Spending a lot of time lounging poolside or laying out at the beach this summer? Here are a few books that would make great company. (PS- I may or may not be reading 1-3 of these right now.)

On Sustainable Fashion

Okay, this is totally one of the books that I’m reading right now, and I’m loving it. It lifts the curtain on fast fashion, explores the true cost behind cheap clothes, and shares important info that every shopper should be aware of.

If you’re looking to declutter and streamline your closet this summer, this book is a great resource. Rather than just focus on classic minimalism, Rees’s method helps you develop your personal style within your budget and translate that into a curated closet.

This book is ALL of the inspo vibes. People at the top of their respective fields (including queen Marina Abramovic) share their journey to success and the lessons they’ve learned along the way. This book lives on my desk, and I reread a chapter every time I need some motivation.

Looking for a dose of pure joy? This book is exactly that. Lauren Graham is hilarious. She shares her acting journey with humorous wisdom from her first school play to the Gilmore Girls reboot. (This also includes an episode of Project Runway, which was apparently awkward AF).

If you want to create difference in your industry and add true heart to your business, this book is the to-go you’ve been waiting for. I found it super helpful when I was rebranding Declarative last year.

This is a great read, especially if you’re in a funk or feel like you’ve plateaued. It helped me become clear on my “why” - the reason my business exists and why I make clothes the way I do. It helped shift how I regard my entrepreneur journey in a productive way. Basically, I’m happier in those stagnant moments because I know why I’m doing this and what I’m working towards.

Are you reading something excellent this summer? Shout them out in the comments. I’m always looking for more gems to add to my queue. Happy reading!
